DC Power Supply is LXI-compliant

The new Sorensen Series XEL-P DC linear power supplies are ideally suited to bench work as well ATE tasks. The Sorensen Series XEL-P DC linear power supplies are characterised by extremely low ripple (0.4 mV rms) and user-friendly, lockable analogue controls. Control ports include RS232, USB and Ethernet LAN and an optional GPIB interface. The Ethernet interface is LXI (Lan eXtension for Instrumentation) compliant. In addition analogue control (0-10 VDC) for current and voltage setting is provided as standard.
The Sorensen Series XEL-P DC linear power supplies are 3U modules that can be assembled in 12U cabinets. Models are available as single output and dual output (6U) in ratings of 0 to 15 Volt (0-5 Amp), 0 to 30 Volts (0-3 Amps), 0 to 60 Volts (0-1.5 Amps)-single output, and in dual output versions of 0 to 30 Volts (0-6 Amps when paralleled). The new Sorensen Series XEL-P DC linear power supplies have unique features including the so-called ‘V-Span’ function which permits an engineer to set arbitrary (within 0 to max rated voltage) upper and lower limits of voltage, covering the entire range of the analogue knob rotation control; the above-mentioned lockable voltage and current settings; and for dual output models, three operational modes (independent, true parallel, and tracking modes).
In the independent mode, the two voltage outputs are electrically isolated from one another and independently adjustable. In the isolated tracking mode, the outputs are still electrically isolated but have identical values. In the ratio-tracking mode, one output voltage can be set as a percentage ratio of the other, while remaining electrically isolated. The Sorensen Series XEL-P DC linear power supplies are readily integrated into ATE systems, having output terminals also brought out to the rear panel. The RS232 output is suitable for control systems where response speed is not of importance.
The USB port is particularly useful Smaller PC oriented systems. A USB driver is provided that supports Windows 2000 (note: an IVI driver is included for operation application software such as LabView and LabWindows), XP and Vista. The LAN interface uses standard 10/100 base T Ethernet hardware, and is suitable for local area networks or direct connection to a single PC.
