4001A and 4003A – 4 MHz Sweep Function Generators

4001A and 4003A – 4 MHz Sweep Function Generators

The B&K Precision 4001A and 4003A are versatile 4 MHz sweep function generators designed for a wide range of signal generation applications. Both models can generate sine, triangle, and square waveforms up to 4 MHz, as well as ramp and ±pulse waveforms up to 3.5 MHz. These function generators are ideal for testing and development in laboratories, engineering, and educational settings.
Key Features (4001A & 4003A):

Waveform Generation: Generates sine, triangle, and square waveforms from 0.5 Hz to 4 MHz, and ramp and ±pulse waveforms from 0.5 Hz to 3.5 MHz.
Variable Amplitude Output: Offers a 20 Vpp output into an open circuit or 10 Vpp into 50 ohms, with a 20 dB attenuator for precise control over output signal levels.
Linear or Logarithmic Sweep: Provides linear or logarithmic sweep functions with adjustable sweep rates and widths for effective signal analysis.
DC Offset Control: Features an adjustable ±10 V DC offset, allowing the user to inject signals directly into circuits at the correct bias level.
TTL Output: TTL-compatible output for use in digital systems.
Kensington Security Slot: Provides security in lab environments, preventing unauthorized removal.

Model 4003A Additional Features:

Built-in Frequency Counter: The 4003A model includes a 20 MHz 5-digit external frequency counter, enabling accurate frequency measurements in addition to waveform generation.
CMOS Variable Output: CMOS-level output, expanding the compatibility with digital circuits and systems.
Voltage Controlled Frequency (VCF) Input: Allows external control of frequency, enabling dynamic adjustment based on external input signals.

Applications:

Circuit Testing and Development: Ideal for injecting waveforms into circuits for testing and analyzing frequency response.
Frequency Response Analysis: Perform linear or logarithmic sweep tests to characterize the performance of filters, amplifiers, and other electronic components.
Digital System Integration: Use the TTL and CMOS outputs to interface with digital systems and microcontrollers for clock signal generation and testing.
Signal Generation for Education: A versatile tool for teaching waveform generation, modulation, and signal analysis in engineering labs.

Models:
